12.4 100BASE-T4 Twisted-Pair Physical Topology

The physical topology supported by twisted-pair link segments is the star. In this topology a set of link segments are connected to a hub, and radiate out from the hub to the computers like the rays from a star. Another way to visualize the topology is as a wagon wheel, with the hub at the center and each link segment as a spoke of the wheel. This topology is shown in Figure 5.3.
