Adding HOSTS
Now that the domain has been created, and the WINS resolution is set up, you need to add the records that the WINS resolution cannot handle. Essentially, this is any non-WINS client that you have on your network, as well as any host that has an alias (discussed in the next section).
Adding a host record (or any record) is simple. All you need to do is right-click the domain (or sub-domain) to which you want to add the record. A menu (see Figure 13.15) appears from which you can choose New Host.
When you choose New Host, you see the dialog box shown in Figure 13.16. Enter the host name and the IP address in this dialog box. You need only the host name because the domain or sub-domain you clicked on is assumed.
An option to Create Associated PTR Record also exists. This enters the required information for the reverse lookup zone for this host. You need to create the reverse lookup zone before you can do this (see “Reverse Lookup”).
